About us - Centre Otočac
Branch of Centre Bistričak is located in the place called Brlog, on the edge of Gacka valley in the Ličko-senjska County. It is located 14 kilometres from Otočac, by which it has transport connections by bus. Centre is located in newly-built facility, functioning since 2006
In our community we offer social services to adults with mental damages and psycho-organic changes, as well as to persons which require intensive care (stationary care). We take care of mobile, semi-mobile and immobile persons.
Since 2013 we offer services of organized housing in communal unit in the city of Otočac, which allows users a greater life standard from which they would have in the institution, decision-making which affects their lives, spare time organization, confidence-building, possibility of involving into the life of the local community.
In the centre there are located 138 based on the contract of accommodation or decision of assigned Centre for social care.
Centre's users are taken care of by professional staff (social worker, working therapist, nurse) and support staff (caregivers, cooks, cleaners, janitor, support worker in the laundry room). General medicine practitioner takes care of users together with the psychiatrist.
Centre has section for intense care which is equipped with all aids and medical equipment.
Rooms for users (one-bed, two-bed and tree-bed) are entirely equipped according to recent standards.
Users are able to use several ding rooms, living rooms with the TV and radio in the Centre. There are also available rooms for working therapy, physical therapy and several tea kitchens.
Nutrition is in accordance to most recent norms, special care of nutrition (according to doctor’s recommendation) is considered, and there is also a possibility of ordering À la carte meals with extra charge.
Centre’s kitchen is equipped according to HACCP standards.
Around the Centre’s facility there are decorated green areas covering 5000 square metres with the summer house, walking paths and benches.
Various types of activities are organized everyday with the goal to make life in the centre as entertaining as possible, as activities are adjusted to needs, wishes and possibilities of the users.
