Housing Jalžabet
Encouraged by legal regulations in our country, EU and UN decisions, we have been trying to carry out a project of deinstitutionalization of persons with mental disabilities in the form of communal housing in our facility for years.
Based on the positive experience from the branch Otočac where we had organized housing for three people, we have requested permission for an object of a kind in Jalžabet.
After the collection of all necessary documentation, this year we organized housing for 16 people in a lovely milieu of a family house, located in the sole centre of Jalžabet, surrounded with greenery, excellently equipped beyond all standards.
In the facility, there are two housing units, and each one is intended for accommodating 8 persons. Each facility has access to four double rooms, has an entirely equipped kitchen with space for dining, bathroom, two sanitary knots, big living room equipped with TV and audio devices. Next to the facility there is a closed porch and garden with greenery.
Users will be offered 24/7 all-round support in order to adopt the skills of responsible money-handling as much as possible, oneself and apartment care, food preparation, usage of public transportation, creating and maintaining friendships and acquaintances. User’s will be encouraged to use services which local community has to offer (health care, shops, cultural, recreational, sporting and religious activities).
Accommodation is ideal for mobile persons and their life-partners.
